Painting & Jewellery Making in Enamel on Copper

We are organizing two workshops (1 day each) on 18^th & 19^th July 2009, to introduce Painting & Jewellery Making in Enamel on Copper at Kamalnayan Bajaj Art Gallery, Bajaj Bhawan, (opp. Inox Theatre), 226 Nariman Point, Mumbai – 400 021.

18^th July 2009 : Painting in Enamel on Copper

The participants will learn how to do painting in ENAMEL on copper surface by using Graffito techniques with industrial enamels. (Graffito is very effective technique widely used by contemporary artists in enamelling. It has tremendous possibilities to explore into a new direction and create something absolutely different). 4”x4” raw copper plates will be provided. Participants will be taught how to prepare the plate for enamelling and the entire process.

All the material and required equipments will be provided by us to use during the workshop.

Timings 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm

The cost of the workshop will be Rs.1500/- per person.

Max. Number of seats: 10

Entry is open to all interested students/designers/artists/architects who have keen interest to learn add enamel in their palette. No any pre-knowledge in enamel/art/drawing required to participate in this workshop.

19^th July 2009 : Jewellery Making in Enamel on Copper

In this workshop participants will learn to Enamel on copper jewellery in graffito technique with vitreous enamels. Each student will be making a set of earring pair & pendent. It will include drilling the piece and use of vitreous enamels, firing vitreous enamels on copper and finish the piece to wear.

All the material and required equipments will be provided by us to use during the workshop.

Timings 11:00 am to 5:00 pm

The cost of the workshop will be Rs.1500/- per person.

Max. number of seats: 10

Entry is open to all interested students/designers/artists/manufacturers/jewellery business firms/jewellery makers who have keen interest to learn enamel in contemporary use. No any pre-knowledge in enamel/jewellery/art/drawing is required to participate in the workshop.

ENAMEL – is a very fascinating medium and it has limitless possibilities to use in art, architecture, design and jewellery. The process of melting glass on metal is the most charming part and the creation comes out of fire (Heated electric kiln) is really gorgeous. Enamel is basically peculiar kind of glass that fused onto metal (copper, silver, gold or steel) base at high temperature. This is the first organization in the country that started full time teaching in enamelling on metal through courses and short term workshops.
