Enamelled Jewellery Making on Copper & Silver


Hi FriendsWe scheduled two different workshops (1 day each) on 27th & 28th June 2009, to introduce Jewellery Making in Enamel on Copper and Fine Silver at Kamalnayan Bajaj Art Gallery, Bajaj Bhawan, (opp. Inox Theatre), 226 Nariman Point, Mumbai – 400 021.

27th June 2009 : Cloisonné Jewellery Making in Enamel on Copper

The participants will learn how to transfer their own designs on jewellery in ENAMEL by using cloisonné technique (Cloisonné is very less used technique in Indian Enamels. It has tremendous possibilities to explore into a new direction and create something absolutely different). Cut shapes in copper will be provided. Participants will be taught how to drill the hole, to put rings & hooks and make ready to wear.

All the material and required equipments will be provided by us to use during the workshop.

Timings 11:00 am to 5:00 pm

The cost of the workshop will be Rs.1500/- per person.

Max. number of seats: 10

Entry is open to all interested students/designers/artists/manufacturers/jewellery business firms/jewellery makers who have keen interest to learn enamel in contemporary use. No any pre-knowledge in enamel/jewellery/art/drawing required to participate in this workshop.

28th June 2009 : Jewellery Making in Enamel on Textured Fine Silver

In this workshop participants will learn to Enamel on textured FINE SILVER jewellery in Basse-taille technique (Basse-taille, from the French word meaning "low-cut". The surface of the metal is decorated with a low relief design which can be seen through transparent enamels). Each student will be making a set of earring pair & pendent. It will include drilling the piece and use of vitreous enamels, firing vitreous enamels on fine silver and ready the piece to wear. Enamelling on Silver is trickier than other metals. Participants will be taught the guidelines to use vitreous enamel on fine silver.

All the material (including fine silver) and required equipments will be provided by us to use during the workshop.
